I love Melbourne. It’s been my adopted home town for over 6 years and I still get excited about discovering all it has to offer. Whether it’s great food, awesome coffee, sporting events or a myriad of cultural activities, you’d be hard pressed to struggle for something to do here.
But one of things I love most about Melbourne is the markets and the Melbourne Design Market is quite possibly the most exciting one of all. It only happens twice a year (I’m sure they do this to build our collective anticipation!) so you need to plan ahead to make sure you’re not busy doing something else that one day in July and November.
Showcasing the best Melbourne has to offer in terms of cool and unique artisans, the Melbourne Design Market began in 2004 and since then has attracted thousands of designers, design fans and everyone who appreciates cool wares.
Applying a strict criteria to the selection of just 50 stall holders for each event, you’re guaranteed to see the newest and brightest products from furniture to fashion, jewellery and homewares, all mixed in with some coffee (of course!), food and a great atmosphere.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to pick up some great pieces that add a dash of personality to your home.
The next Melbourne Design Market will be held on Sunday 28 July 2013 in the carpark of Federation Square.
See you there!
