Postcard from Brisbane

I was lucky enough to have a lovely weekend in Brisbane with some girlfriends (thanks hubby!) and took the opportunity to check out some of the fantastic homewares stores in the area.

We were staying in Fortitude Valley so I kept it local, focusing on stores in and around James Street.

My first stop was the divine The Modern Furniture Store. I could have spent a fortune in here on their lovely furniture, Marimekko cushions, fabrics and tableware but managed to restrain myself and just walked away with a cute Marimekko side plate.

Next up was St Barts, the perfect place for anyone looking for luxe, coastal accessories. With a great range of cushions from Bonnie and Neil, some fantastic lamps and small furniture pieces plus lots of beachy accessories (think shells, soaps, candles and silver) it was a pleasure to wander around!

After a well earned pedicure and some dinner, we hit James Street again the next day and came across Ivy + Bird. Tucked down a side street, it’s a cute little store filled to the brim with a mix of homewares, jewellery, clothing and accessories. High on the list here were some gorgeous Turkish bath towels – divine! If only I could have squeezed a couple into my suitcase.
