Pantone, the world’s foremost authority on colour, have today announced their colour of the year for 2014 – Radiant Orchid 18-3224.
According to Pantone, Radiant Orchid is “An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”
Purple can be a challenging hue to work with in your home, so here’s a few images to get you thinking. It’s best friends are greens – think muted olives and forest colours, inspired by what you see in nature. It also looks great pared back with grey or add a pop of yellow or orange if you’re brave!
