I’m very lucky to have a husband who loves homewares, art and interior design almost as much as I do, so when I suggested a weekend in Sydney to scour the local homewares scene, he was more than happy to come along!
We visited so many great stores, too many to list them all, but here are my (our!) highlights.
Elements I love – a cute and quirky store filled with one off antiques, European industrial homewares, lighting and some amazing Piet Hein Eek wallpaper that looks like aged pressed metal.
ici et la – a treasure trove of all things French including an amazing selection of striped fabrics, linen, furniture and accessories. Wandering through the warm, dusty warehouse felt just like being in the south of France!
Spence & Lyda – One word, AMAZING. More Missoni than I’ve ever seen in one place, beautiful hand crafted furniture and incredible lights. There were so many pieces in here that could be used to add personality to bedrooms, lounge rooms, dining rooms – even some funky outdoor furniture just in time for Summer.
Regardless of your style, you’re sure to find a store (or more than one) in Surry Hills that has something you love.
